Sooner or Later

by: Rhiannon

Jed raced down the stairs, trying to catch the woman hurrying to her car, "Abbey! Abbey, stop!"

Abbey ignored him, blazing a path down the sidewalk. She reached her car and unlocked the door. She started to open the car door, but a hand behind her blocked her movement, "Jed!" She exclaimed, whirling around.

Jed placed an arm on both of Abbey's sides, blocking her path of escape, "Abbey, listen to me."

"I've been doing that for the last two hours!" Abbey exclaimed. "And it's accomplished absolutely nothing except piss me off!"

Jed sighed, "Abbey, please..." He gave a little smile, "I promise I won't say anything that could even remotely remind you of Latin... please?"

Against her better judgment, Abbey sighed, "Fine, what?"

"Go to dinner with me."

Abbey blinked, unsure of what to do next. "I threw a book at your head..."

"I noticed that," Jed responded.

"And now you want to have dinner with me?"

"Yeah."

"Why?"

"I like you." Jed stated simply.

Abbey looked at him carefully, "You like me?"

"Yes."

"Yes."

"Okay."

"Okay."

"Meet you at-"

"Yeah," Abbey answered, before he finished his question. "Seven o'clock?"

"Yeah."

"Okay."

"Okay."

Jed backed away from her and helped her into the car, "See you then."

Abbey nodded as she started her car, "Okay."

"Okay."

THE END...
