(Thank you AJ...)
Jed sat on the couch in the living room of Abbey's apartment with a bag of ice on his head. He looked down at the big, purple, flowery robe that Abbey had handed him, along with the instruction to take his wet clothes off so they could dry.
He looked around Abbey's living room as he waited for her to come out of her bedroom. His wait was short, as she just emerged. Looking over at him, she sighed, "The bathroom is right here. Go change your clothes."
Abbey tilted her head, "Would you rather stay in your wet clothes all night?"
Jed shook his head, "Umm... no. Not really."
"Then go." Abbey made a motion to the bathroom.
Jed moved from the couch, leaving the bag of ice on her couch. As he passed by her, she reached out and stopped him. She bent his head down to hers and examined the bump that was forming.
Jed looked up and caught her eye, they both stood absolutely motionless for a moment, before Abbey cleared her throat, "Um... you should go change."
"Okay," Jed spoke, walking toward the bathroom.
Abbey waited until the door shut behind him before letting a breath out, "Okay."
While she waited for him to return from changing his clothes, she moved all over the room, picking up this and that and putting them in their rightful place. When she finished with that, she walked over to the couch and sat down. Immediately, she shot up. Looking down, she noticed that the bag of ice he had to his head had been left there... to melt... Mumbling inaudible things, she picked the wet cold washcloth that once held ice up, and carried it to the kitchen sink.
Returning, she had to stifle a laugh at the sight of Jed standing in the middle of her living room in her robe.
Jed looked at her with a thoroughly unamused gaze, "I look stupid."
"Yes, you do."
"Thanks a lot!"
"You said it first," Abbey returned.
"You weren't supposed to agree with me!"
"I'm sorry," Abbey replied, covering her mouth with her hand.
"You're laughing at me, Abigail."
"No, I'm not honest." Abigail replied. She looked at him as he stared at her, standing in the middle of her living room in her big purple robe with the large pink flowers on. "Okay, maybe I am."
Jed collapsed on her couch, "You're not a very nice person, you know that?"
Abbey recovered, "Yeah... well, you look ridiculous."
"Thanks so very much,"
"You're welcome so very much."
